SPSF is responsible for veterinary costs for animals in foster care unless you would like cover any of the costs yourself. The foster carer must contact SPSF when veterinary assistance is required, as we have allocated clinics that assist us with appointments. In emergency situations, the foster carer must make every effort to contact SPSF for approval before the commencement of treatment; however the animal’s welfare is the first and foremost consideration at all times. Authorisation must be obtained from SPSF for any purchases relating to the foster animal/s if reimbursement is requires. We have items such as beds, leads, toys which can be loaned to you and food can be dropped off if required. All loaned items are to be returned when foster is collected. As a foster carer for Safe Pets Safe Families, I hereby agree to the following terms: • Abide by all State and local council bylaws applicable to animal welfare and management and pay any fines incurred (for example an escaped dog) • Abide by all SPSF current policies and procedures – which includes but is not limited to: (a) I shall not use information gained in the course of my engagement, for personal gain or advantage, financial or otherwise, or to provide any gain or advantage to family members or any associates. (b) I shall not disclose or provide to another volunteer or to an external third party any confidential or privileged information gained in the course of my engagement with SPSF (c) I shall not permit unauthorised access to any information held by SPSF (d) I shall not sell, or attempt to sell, to a third party any information gained in the course of my engagement with SPSF (e) I shall not knowingly act in any way in which to cause a conflict between my own and SPSF interests. *I acceptName *FirstLastFor the foster animal/s in my care I understand to: • Fulfil satisfactory nutritional requirements • Accommodate the animal/s in suitable housing and shelter from the elements • Seek permission immediately when veterinary care in required • Provide adequate exercise for the animal/s needs • Always have the dog on a leash in public areas with exception of an enclosed dog park and pick up any poop • Give human interaction in a safe and controlled environment • To provide regular updates and photos of foster animals to SPSF admin via the Facebook foster page – Please note NO information or photos should be shared elsewhere on any form of social media due to the privacy & confidentiality of our clients • If an animal escapes to instigate immediately the set procedures provided • Contact my assigned case worker for ongoing support if required I understand that SPSF can make no guarantee relating to the animal/s health, behaviour or actions. I understand that I receive foster animals at my own risk and can reject or return any animals for which SPSF has asked me to provide care.
