Keeping People & Pets Together

Research shows that victims of domestic violence are more likely to delay leaving an abusive relationship if they own a pet. Recognising the lack of pet-friendly refuge facilities for these victims, Safe Pets Safe Families was born. Working with registered foster carers and boarding services, we ensure pets stay safe, and at the same time, allow owners to get back on their feet before finally being reunited permanently with their beloved pets.

At Safe Pets Safe Families, we know the importance of the bond we have with our animals, especially during tough times. So, when those in the South Australian community face disadvantage or crisis, we are there to help keep pets safe and with their loving owner.

Amber’s Story

The Safe Pets Safe Families program assists women to leave safely and feel confident that their pet will be safe, so essentially it is a life-saving service. I wouldn’t have coped without their support/service.
